What you'll learn

Choose Foundry models and services by modality, region, cost, latency, and control.
Design retrieval with vector indexes, knowledge indexes, chunking, and citations.
Deploy reproducibly with infrastructure as code, private endpoints, and staged promotion.
Plan quota and capacity with standard, batch, and provisioned throughput deployments.
Monitor quality, drift, groundedness, and cost, and alert before users notice.
Apply managed identity, least privilege, private networking, and egress control.
Place content filters, guardrails, red teaming, and human oversight where they belong.
Build generative applications with RAG, structured output, routing, and staged workflows.
Evaluate prompts and retrieval with golden datasets, regression tests, and A/B comparison.
Design agent roles, tool schemas, memory, and secure function calling.
Orchestrate multi-agent work with sequential, parallel, manager, handoff, and reflection patterns.
Diagnose agent failures with traces, metrics, and incident triage sequences
Select image, video, multimodal, and Content Understanding capabilities correctly.
Build speech, translation, summarization, and extraction solutions with confidence routing.
Configure indexing, enrichment, hybrid search, semantic ranking, and retrieval security.

Course Description

Can you build an Azure AI application or agent that is grounded, evaluated, observable, secure, and affordable — not just impressive in a demo?

Prepare for Microsoft AI-103 (Azure AI Apps and Agents Developer Associate) with 600 original questions across six full-length mock exams of 100 items each. Every exam is blueprint-weighted, so each one is a coherent rehearsal of the whole blueprint rather than a random topic dump.

This is a developer exam. It expects working judgment about Microsoft Foundry (formerly Azure AI Foundry), the Foundry Agent Service, retrieval over Azure AI Search, evaluation, monitoring, identity and networking, content safety, computer vision, speech, language, translation, and document or content extraction with Python.

WHAT YOU GET

• Six original 100-question mock exams

• Blueprint weighting on every exam: 28 / 33 / 13 / 13 / 13 across the five published domains

• Mixed item types: 76 single-choice, 16 multi-select, 8 ordering items per exam

• Four three-question case studies inside every exam

• An explanation for every option plus a case-specific overall rationale

• Local study-map skill anchors and the official study-guide reference on every item

• Offline Markdown review copies alongside instructor CSV files

• A reproducible ZIP, a validation report, and automated structural tests

HOW THE ITEM MIX MATCHES THE REAL EXAM

The live role-based exam is not a wall of identical single-answer items. Microsoft's exam experience guidance describes 40–60 questions in 120 minutes with possible interactive components and labs, and candidates routinely see multi-select, drag-and-drop or ordering, hot-area, case-study, and adaptive problem-solution formats.

These mock exams reproduce what a CSV player can score honestly:

• Single-choice items with one best answer.

• Multi-select items that state the required count ("Select two") and accept a comma-separated key.

• Ordering items rendered as four candidate sequences, so sequencing judgment is tested without a drag-and-drop UI.

• Case studies: a shared scenario followed by three scored questions, exactly as a case-study block behaves in the exam.

What is deliberately not reproduced, and is stated in every export: hot-area image selection, drag-and-drop UI, hands-on labs and interactive components, adaptive problem-solution (yes/no) sets, and the exact live item count.

WHY EACH EXAM IS 100 ITEMS

A 100-item exam is deliberately longer than the live 40–60 items. This is an expanded practice bank, not a length replica: the extra volume gives every sub-objective real coverage and lets you drill the same blueprint twice without repeating questions. Because the item count differs, do not read a practice duration as the real clock — see the pacing note below.

THE SIX EXAMS

1. CONTOSO SUPPORT AND FABRIKAM CLAIMS

Model and service selection, retrieval and knowledge services, infrastructure and CI/CD, quotas and cost, drift and grounding monitoring, identity and networking, responsible AI controls; generative app construction, agents, evaluation, and monitoring; vision, text, and extraction basics.

2. HEALTHCARE DELIVERY

Clinical documentation and billing scenarios: conversation memory, private endpoints, prompt caching, managed identity and least privilege, content filters and approval gates, groundedness measurement, RAG, tool schemas, agent orchestration, image and video capability selection, speech, translation glossaries, and field-level confidence.

3. FINANCIAL SERVICES AND INSURANCE

Fraud investigation and loan documentation: provisioned throughput, batch deployment, token analytics, regression testing before promotion, key vaults and egress control, red teaming, routing and few-shot prompting, golden datasets and A/B comparison, safe tool contracts, parallel and reflective agents, deletion propagation, and document extraction choice.

4. MANUFACTURING AND SUPPLY CHAIN

Line-side inspection: vision-capable model selection, tool and memory design, drift alerting, guardrails and protected-material detection, structured output for work orders, staged validation, sequential and manager agents, incident triage, image editing, video analysis, Content Understanding modes, and indexing enrichment.

5. PUBLIC SECTOR AND EDUCATION

Citizen and student services: data residency, seasonal quota peaks, human oversight of benefits decisions, red teaming, citations and structured output for case systems, refusal policy, handoff and manager patterns, multimodal accessibility, multilingual notices, speech translation, security filters, and custom extraction.

6. CROSS-INDUSTRY CAPSTONE

A group-wide assistant across four subsidiaries: shared model standards, private networking, least privilege per subsidiary, provisioned capacity, evaluation gates, governed tool calls, retrieval budgets, safety filters, watermarks, compliance framing, and reproducible release.

EACH EXAM CONTAINS

• 28 questions on Plan and manage an Azure AI solution

• 33 questions on Implement generative AI and agentic solutions

• 13 questions on Implement computer vision solutions

• 13 questions on Implement text analysis solutions

• 13 questions on Implement information extraction solutions

COVERAGE THAT IS EXPLICIT ABOUT ITS LIMITS

All five published domains and 30 local study-map skills have mapped practice. Numeric skill IDs are local study aids, not Microsoft objective numbers. Mapping does not mean every sub-objective has equal depth, and the questions have not been psychometrically calibrated against the live exam.

HOW THE CERTIFICATION ACTUALLY WORKS

The exam is proctored and typically contains 40–60 questions in a 120-minute appointment (140 minutes of seat time). Microsoft may include interactive components or labs; unscheduled breaks are not allowed in the middle of a lab or problem-solution set. Microsoft Learn documentation is available in a split screen during role-based exams, and the timer keeps running. The passing score is 700 out of 1000. The exam costs $165 USD, is available in ten languages, is valid for one year, and has a free renewal assessment. Retakes are permitted after 24 hours.

This is a practice-test course, not a lecture series, provisioned lab environment, Azure subscription, exam voucher, or certification award. Instructor CSV files require account-level import preview before publication. All items are original educational content, not actual, recalled, or copied exam questions. This independent course is not affiliated with or endorsed by Microsoft.

Who this course is for:

  • Developers preparing for Microsoft AI-103.
  • Azure AI engineers building generative AI and agent solutions.
  • Solution developers implementing vision, speech, language, and extraction workloads.
  • Technical leads standardizing AI delivery, evaluation, and governance.
  • Certification candidates who want realistic item formats, not only single-answer drills.
